英検1級のライティングでは、指定されたトピックについてエッセイ形式で解答します。

トピックについての意見と理由（3つ）を挙げる

As internet technology is growing dramatically, it has started to be utilized for voting. I believe that online voting should be introduced for a variety of reasons.

The biggest reason is that online voting is convenient. Traditional paper-based voting requires voters to travel to polling locations to cast their ballots. With online voting, people can vote without leaving their homes or places of work. This would attract individuals who do not want to break their daily routine with busy schedules to take part in elections.

Another related reason is that online voting is accessible for a large number of voters including those who with disabilities or mobility issues. They could participate in the voting process by casting their ballots from their own devices with internet access.

Finally, Online voting could boost voter turnout. The voting systems have the potential to increase voter participation by providing the convenient and accessible voting method. This way of voting would encourage eligible voters who are familiar with technology or normally bother to go to polling stations to take part in elections.

For these reasons, I believe that the benefits of internet voting outweigh the drawbacks even though there are concerns about online voting systems such as the risk of voter fraud or hacking. Online voting could be an alternative way to traditional paper-based voting and should be implemented.

Some countries have embraced online voting as a means of conducting elections. Although the method has a potential to increase convenience and voter turnout, I do not believe that online voting should be introduced for the following three reasons.

The biggest reason is that online voting systems can have significant security risks, such as cyberattacks, hacking and fraud. The platforms might be vulnerable to hacking and hackers potentially could tamper with the election results.

Another related reason is technical issues. Technical difficulties such as errors and system failures caused by online voting systems could delay or disrupt the voting process. Even a small system error could impact the voting process, which leads to compromising the reliability of the voting results.

Finally, verifying the identity of voters can be a significant challenge in online voting. Unlike in-person voting, online voting systems have difficulty in verifying the real identity of voters. Also, hackers could potentially steal personal information of individuals for the purpose of voting on their behalf.

For the above reasons, I do not think that online voting can be fully introduced as a viable alternative to traditional paper-based voting systems. Online voting has significant challenges that must be considered, and the drawbacks outweigh the potential benefits.

いくつかの国では、選挙の実施手段としてオンライン投票を採用している。この方法は利便性と投票率の向上の可能性をもたらすが、私は以下の3つの理由からオンライン投票を導入すべきではないと考えている。
